Why Not to Pirate games!!
 

ok this is bugging me! I have been going around to forums and stuff (not necicarely this one but this is my favourite forum) and I have goten the idea that a lot of ppl asking how to backup games with certain problems, ie "where do I download xbox iso files, I own the original games i just don't wanna ftp. I swear".

here are some reasons not to pirate:

-loses money from the xbox console so you are risking getting xbox shut down

-the dvd looks ugly or you have no dvd and no cool picture

-no instructions

-you risk these great forums from being shut down by asking

-you waste internet bandwith

-you need to pay money to rent the game (and) buy a dvd

now reconsider pirating if it is worthit to save money with all these advantages of buying the game!

as long as people as to stupid and gready. piracy will always be a problem. we can only do as we have always done on these and other boards. and that is to activley discourage and refuse to help those who blatentley ignore or breach the rules in place.

other than that theres not much that we can do..

As long as companies continue to gouge the consumer with outrageous prices for intelllectual properties pirating will never stop. No different than trying to find the cheapest insurance company. If there is a cheaper way people will find it crack it and ask about it.

You see it would be different if you bought something of value with resale value. A car is a physical thing a game is code I think its ridiculous the prices of games and think piracy is wrong but so is robbing the consumer

You forgot to mention the cool murchandise you get when u reserve games. Like shirts and bobble heads lol. It might not be something to "aww" over, but i love when I get t-shirts for games like resident evil when reserving. Of coarse this isn't for all games, just the ones that are worth reserving.

I reserved Star Wars Rebel Strike got a demo disk of the game to tie me over and it had the original star wars game on it from 1981 amazing how far we come!!

See things like that give a bit of extra value but paying 50$ US for a game like Kukota Kojin ir whatever its called is a blatant crime against humanity but I do admit that games that offer d/l content a gimmik are ones I will usually buy.

Like the Rainbow 6 package

rainbow six arghh. I reserved that for the dreamcast back in the day. It was pushed back 6 months. Although, i was pretty happy when i finally recieved it.

I must say though. I never actually met anyone that bought steal battalion (not meaning that everyone pirated it, meanning that 200 bucks is alot for a game). Even know it's price is pretty high, it may have sold a few more if it was on xbl.

You haven't literally met me but I own Steel Battalion I couldn't pass that bad boy up. Paid almost 280$ Can. Check out my link there its proof I buy games !!!

lol I can only imagine the Steel Battalion controller in a museum someday sitting next to the Nintendo R.O.B. or something! :p

Yeah I figure if I buy it I better give it a decent rating!!, Yeah I worked two jobs for awhile and lately I went to one so the games are farther and fewer between.

But if you ask me each console has some good things about it. GameCube has great 1st part games, PS2 has great RPG's and XBox has it all :D so I had to get them all

I had a receiver then had to sell it I was really upset, so I will be getting one as soon as I cn afford it

..but my buddy Cpt. Morgan is a pirate and he's cool! :p
