Yeah sure the messiah 2 is the best mod chip to get as it does a direct boot. Pm dust2dust for more info hes top notch he even chips them :) at a cheep price

V7 Protection
 

If the person mods his ps2 with that Apple Pro chip will he be able to play the v7 protection games? Or is the 2xTOC just for v7's Very Very confused! eg. Splinter Cell or Freedom Fighters

The check is only for v7 and higher systems, and yes the Apple Pro gets by that problem. It is half the cost of the Messiah 2 as well.

dose any one know if the v9's has 2x TOC check like the v7

Do you really think they would remove a protection that has caused so many headaches for people? I am sure it is still there.

Although I understand what Biggie is saying, I have to point out that if anyone remembers the rare v6 that had the upsidedown connector also remembers that it too gave people problems.

It really wasnt long lived problem since at the time pnp mods were quickly redesigned to accomodate these new v6's. Its still odd that playstation didnt continue with that connector either.
