SafeDisc 2.90.040
Hi,
I have Tiger woods PGA tour 2004 and want to make a backup copy how do i go about this cause its protected with SafeDisc 2.90.040 Cheers Dan |
Alcohol 120% read image file as SafeDisc 2.......
Burn Image as SafeDisc..... Something to do with the EFM encoding......got that hint off the Alcohol 120% Forums.....has worked fo me on MOH Breakthrough, C&C Zero Hour, Jedi Academy, Pirates of the Carribbean, Freedom Fighters, Rugby 2004 all working 1:1 backups using Lite On and Alcohol... Hope that helps...... |
Nice one mate i'll give that a go!!

Hi, I used alcohol 120% and have made a working copy but it only works in my DVD drive and not from my CDRW drive and also doesn't work from my laptops drive? Is there any reason for this it gives me a fatal error by the way?
Cheers Dan |
Is you cd at you laptop a CD-RW driver?
|
krondike do you think its possible that it could be the laser thats giving dan the prob??because thats what i'm inclined to go with....or could it be that the cdrw is reading it as a cdr/cdrw therefore hide cdr media in alcohol would be the solution??
|
not working in cdrw drive = atip check
not working in laptop, could be a multiple of things.. crap reader, blacklisted software installed |
@mutt1y
like Tippex said + it can be protected with something that's detect if it's a original or backup and your DVD driver might pass it... or something... Have you tried you'r original CD with your laptop? |
Hi thanks for all your replies,
yeah i tried the original in the laptop and it works fine. So if i try another copy and use the hide CDR media thing in alcohol do you think that will work? the drive in the laptop is a DVD drive as well by the way Cheers Dan |
Well it's seams very odd to me... EA games usesully don't use that time of protection. And is often not bundle in to SafeDisc protection ether.
In your computer.... can be that (often EA games do, and right me if I'm wrong). My guess is that the orignal CD dosen't work in the CD-RW driver ether, becuase you install it from the DVD-driver... might have lether...lett say "Y:" and CD-RW driver have "k:" in the regedit, often EA are writting where the game is installed from what CD-driver. Anyway... that's theory dosen't hold when you got a laptop. It can also be a bad copy of the CD. Becuase most DVD-players are often bether reader of the CD-rom and old/cheap CD-RW/CD-R drivers are. (don't tell me why). I have also the same problem with backup of Heroes 3. Did work at my DVD-driver. But you have also a DVD-driver in your laptop...and that's blew that theory.... it can also be a bug. SafeDisc bug... that's dosen't realy reject on your dvd-player at you computer. I whant to ask you one thing. What driver did you use to read the original CD when you created the image? If you using alcohol, dose it says of any kind of all that your driver dosen't supoert 1:1 copy? try both DVD and CD-RW driver. (first you select the profile, hit next, then you see much of setting and stuff. There it's should indicate if you driver support 1:1 copy. if you hit next again it's start to read the image) Dose it of anykind says that your CD-RW driver dosen't support to BURN 1:1 copy. (first you select the the image, hit next, then you see much of setting and stuff. There it's should indicate if you driver support 1:1 copy and you can shoose profile. if you hit next again it's start to burn the image) Please do this...you driver might not suport 1:1 copy (trie with your original CD in the drivers) |
Hi
It doesn't say anywhere in there that either of my drives don't support 1:1 copying. i have looked through all the properties and using the method you supplied? cheers dan |
