Princo DVD-R

Hi guys,

what about pricos? Are these media good for PS2 and XBOX backups?

Snoop [CP] 03-10-2003 07:20

My experience with Princo's have been quite good...

I have an A05 and a v6 PS2 with Messiah 2 Pro installed. I use RecordNow DX v4.50 which shipped with the A05 along with the labelled 4x Princo. I have burnt MANY PS2 backups with no problems at all. Having said that - a friend recently bought a batch of 50 and has had some problems with burning movies. They tend to freeze towards the end. Now this could be for a number of different reason, but I thought you might want to know. I on the other hand, have also burnt movies onto the Princo's with no issues...

Welcome Snoop. Good to see another newz member here.:)

Princos are hit and miss. If you have a v5 or higher you should be ok. Movies that having freezing problems at the end is a known problem resulting from using crap media like Princo.

thanks for your info dudes, i heard that the darker the burning side of the dvd-r the better the reflection when playing back on PS2 and Xbox. Which dvd-r media is the best for that.
Even the media that works for a while, you'll think that it's good and worth buying more, but in actual fact the ps2 laser is struggling to read the data on cheap quality media. Which media has the best reflectivity except verbatims coz they're tooo expensive?

thanks dudes

Ritek hands down.

kyle 11-10-2003 08:24

NIce, i've actually ordered a 25 pack of Printable Riteks last week...
One last question, printable Media and normal media, theres no difference between the two except the printing capability of one right? I mean they both have the same dye surface..?

TylerDurden 11-10-2003 09:35

As long as it says either GO3 or GO4 when your ordering them your good to go.

Tyler!

bighap 11-10-2003 11:42

Yes they have the same dye. The printable ones allow you to print directly onto the top surface with your printer, if it supports it.

kyle 11-10-2003 15:00

GO3, Go4? That's the first i heard of that. What is it, and how do i tell if the media is g03 or go4?

thanks dudes... :)

TylerDurden 11-10-2003 16:46

Its the type of dye used in the blanks. Itll usually say in the description of the dvdrs. If it doesnt call up your supplier and ask.
