there is one way to play any new backups online

there is a way to play any new online game copy online if u got a mod chip that turns off u can turn the mod off then u can use a flip top with swap magic to play ur game online i know alot of u peps say its crap which prob is but heck if i can play my games online with it i wouldnt mind it at all i only use it to play online i boot my other games with the chip :) and also if ur chip happens to crap out u wont be w/o a ps2 like my negibors his apple died now he wants to borrow my ps2 all the time  he said he was going to get a no solder mod and swap disk but never has yet hey bighap do u know if u can turn a apple mod chip off and on ? i belive thats what u do when u boot moives is turning the chip off but not for sure

- you can turn off an apple by holding the reset button for about 5 sec
- even if you use the flip top case or a no solder you still cannot play DNAS protected backups online (DNAS is smarter than that).

o i read it on a web page i guess i would have to ask somebody with a flip top :)

EVOEvo 26-09-2003 14:00

has any one tryed with a no solder chip if not i will test in a few days i got a no solder order and swap disk. I got both gameday 04 and gamebreaker 04 and they can both be played online

aside from the modchips themselves there is another issue you have to take in consideration and that is that DNAS some how checks to see whether the disc inside your ps2 is an official $ony pressed DVD/CD game......so there is no way (yet) that you can play backups (that have DNAS protection) online even hk silvers are detected.......so DNAS (just guessing) probably checks for a $ony signature on the disc or something......I don't know.

to add to this confusing issue......i've read that some people are able to play DNAS protected original games with an original messiah enabled while others say they can't do this with a messiah2......I haven't personally tried any of this (heck I don't even own a network adapter, and I hate football games), just like reading about it.

ff11 is gonna come installed on the hd so i would think as long as you turn off the chip it should be fine

EVOEvo 26-09-2003 18:28

so it comes with the hd or u have to buy that extra

snake2 26-09-2003 18:31

you buy the hd and ff11 is already instaled on it thats what i have herd

bobfffg 01-10-2003 02:19

already installed on the HD? surely not...i mean what happens if the drive corrupts? you're left with no game, and no backup to restore it from....

i really hope they aren't planning to do that :(

EVOEvo 01-10-2003 05:04

i read on in my psm mag on the jap version that they got there hands on they had to load ff11 off the disk onto the hard drive they said it took about 40 mins to do so i belive its on dvd and must be installed on the hd

bobfffg 01-10-2003 06:05

aaaah yes that sounds more like it :) although i'm not sure I like the sound of the 40 minute waiting period in order to load the game to the hard drive :( ....that sucks...let's hope they improve on that.

they could load it to the hard drive level by level or something like that, in order to reduce the initial loading period.... I guess we will see...

TylerDurden 01-10-2003 06:28

40min? That sounds about right for a 2x dvd reader.

Its really scary when todays society considers 40 mins an interminable amount of time.

TylerDurden 01-10-2003 15:56

I would think that the 40 min load is a one time only thing which I would have no problem with.

But I see nothing scary about 40 min being an interminable amount of time. The faster the better.
