DC vampire chronicle patching

hi,
i suppose this has been asked before but i didnt find everything i need to patch vampire chronicle backup so it can work on my pal dreamcast without the black screen problem.
i have found 2 patchs on megagames but i dont know exactly what they correspond to and how i use them.
i need a complete answer, from the apps used to patch the image, to the new burning process.
if its too much i would appreciate u put a link to somewhere i could learn what i need to know.
any info is greatly welcome, thx in advance

edit:
please its quite urgent and i already wasted a few cd-r :(
i read on megagames dc backup faq that i could use the patchs with applyPPF, but they mention cue/bin format for the iso while mine is a cdi.
is there a tool to convert cdi images to cue/bin format? did i got it wrong? is there a patch engine for cdi or nrg images under windows?

you need to use the rgb patch on the original echelon release and you ppf patcher to patch it!
a search on google will find you the patcher!

i think i already wasted a cd-r with ppf patcher, a guide would have ben appreciated :/
on megagames its written "if you need help about the patches ask on the forum", and i saw some dumb questions have been answered while nobody really bother about my problem :(

Look for PPF-O-MATIC 2.0 (or more).
Launch it, select your patch, select your file, click on "Apply" and burn your game.

What's easier ?

maybe to know i need ppf-o-matic 2, its not that obvious, theres no comment at all in the patch engines section of megagames, thx anyway (even if i feel a bit like u think im a stupid)

Pas de probleme.

Je pensais que tu avais trouve les moteurs de patchs.
J'oublie parfois que ce forum est fait pour ce genre de questions.

Ciao.

please

ok i have ppf-o-matic 2.0, i have echelon release of vampire chronicle, its a cdi image, i have the rgb patch.

now when i launch ppf-o-matic it asks me the ppf patch, i choose it, then it asks a cdrwin bin image...

i tried to find a tool to convert cdi images to bin but i didnt find anything, i also tried to open the cdi file with cdmage, winiso and isobuster but it didnt work, i converted the image with cdi2nero then tried again and it didnt work neither, i could create a raw bin with isobuster tho.

finally i tried to patch the bin file with ppf-o-matic and it told me the size didnt match with the value of the patch...

anyway i dont know what to do with the bin once its patched (even if its not atm), am i obliged to burn the new cd from a cue/bin image? will i be able to selfboot it?

i also tried pal patcher on the 1st_read.bin but it doesnt appear to work, isnt there a patch engine for cdi images?

please i really need help, im not the kind of guy who ask before he searches, i really tried to find an answer and this place is my last hope

Open the CDI image with PPF-O-Matic !
Image type doesn't matter : the patcher simply seeks to the "right" place and changes some bytes by some others.

After you've done this, burn the image as any other image !

theres the same error message that says the length doesnt match the patch value, ill try anyway.
thx for the fast answer and dont get mad please, im sure im not the only one lost with all this

speud 28-09-2003 15:51

it worked :)
i think there should be a small readme file or a text on megagames that explains this works with cdi files too and not only cdrwin bins despite of what the gui says.
thx a lot for your patience.
