Fw 1.41 is really starting to p*** me off! *UPDATE, IT WORKED!!!*
Hi guys,
I would like to downgrade my firmware on my Pioneer 104 from 1.41. I tried the hacked DVDUPGD.EXE (Or whatever it's called) and it didn't work too well. Does anyone know a patch to do this. Tried firmwares.co.uk but nothing for 1.41. If anyone has found anything, please let me know... Thanks in advance... LUFCfan :D |

That site's down at the moment. Anyway, tried using hacked UPGDVD.EXE and it worked but when it came to flash the 1.31 firmware it said 'Failed to update normal part.' This bloody thing is starting to haunt me. Will I EVER get rid of 1.41?
Does anyone know what 'Failed to update normal part' means in english? What can I do to combat this? Also, does anyone know where I can get the Official 1.40 Fw. for my 104??? Any help is most appreciated... LUFCfan :( |
I suggest you post where I linked to above. All they deal with is firmware, so they really know their stuff.

@ lufcfan - try contacting dust2dust via e-mail/PM. He has had lots of experience with this sort of thing and know his stuff :) I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you out as he is a nice guy :)

Finally, the hell of Fw. 1.41 is OVER! I took me a few days of playing around to get this method and here's what worked for me...
I got the drive back to 1.31 using the hacked UPGDVD.EXE from http://firmwares.co.uk by Batousai. :D I am aware that people like myself HATE 1.41 and want rid of it. If this is the case, do what I did... I downloaded the official Fw. 1.31 (Took me hours to find, I can mail it if people want it), and extrated it to the standard folder; 'C:\DVR104\Fw131.' Then I downloaded the hacked UPGDVD.EXE and pasted it into the firmware 1.31 folder, said yes to the current file being replaced and after a couple of seconds it had done it. I then opened up Command Prompt in XP Professional (will work in Home Edition too), from 'Start\All Programs\Accessories.' Here I typed 'CD..' until it brought me back to the C:\ prompt. I then typed 'cd.. DVR104' then pressed ENTER. I then typed in 'cd.. fw131' and ENTER. Finally, I typed 'UPGDVD 131' and the whole process started. It took about two minutes to find 'Key 1' and then it flashed no problems. Some people say add /F onto the end of the UPGDVD 131 command but this took ages for me and just failed with an error message . My method did it straight away and I am now burning Ritek media at 2x WITHOUT toasting them! :D :D Well, i'm happy now and on to my next endevour, getting PGEN working and converting all my favourite Megadrive games... Hope this helps someone... LUFCfan :D |
If you needed 1.31 you could have asked. I would have been happy to email it to you.:) Check out www.firmwares.co.uk

Ah well, I'll bear that in mind. Anyway, the main thing is that I have done it now. Thanks again Bighap for all your help...
