CD Image Convertor

Hi
I would like to know if there are any programs that can convert the type of file a cd image is. eg: converting a .iso file to a CloneCD image file.
If there is a program like that, can someone please give me the URL?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Try this site. Maybe u can use one of these programs....

There is no way that an .iso file, which is an image created only from data, can be converted into a file whereby the missing protection data from a cd can be added.

I don't think he's asking that. He's just asking if u can convert an .ISO file to a .***(the image extension CloneCd makes).

Yep, thats exactly what I'm asking

you can, however obviously the protection wont be present in the clone cd image

Huh?, so basically what you are saying is when you read to an image of a protected game, then convert the image, the protection is eliminated?

Black Diamond 23-09-2003 06:43

That is exactly correct.

Sooooo, is this a way to make a back-up for the newest games with the newest protections???

no.............

say you made a clonecd image, the protection data will be present in the image, effectively a 1:1 copy (assuming it works), now if you convert this image to say a .bin image or .iso then the protection data will be removed, and as a result the game will FAIL the copy protection check

Well, for some reason, I can only use CloneCD to burn image files.

I usually use CloneCD to backup cd's but i recently noticed my GTA3 cd was getting scratched. I had read a good way to copy it was using ddump frontend. I copied it as an image file on my PC, but couldn't burn it. Now i'm stuck with an image file on my PC and a GTA3 cd that is useless.

OK, first of all like other people already mentioned, the copy protection data isn't present in an .iso, so you'll need a crack. You can write a .iso file with many, many programs. Have you tried Nero Burning Rom ? Or Alcohol120% ? If only Clonecd works, can you tell us what happens if you use another program ? Which error message do you get ? You could also mount the .iso in Alcohol120% and Daemon Tools. If that works, at least the .iso itself is fine, if it doesn't then the iso was badly made and you're stuck.
