I just don't get it!

Well I have had it up to here with any copied Resident evil game. I have a v4 PS2 with a Messiah 2 modchip. I have made 4 copies of RE 2 both discs and they always just sit at the PS1 logo screen. I have used Alcohol 120%, Clone CD, and RecordNow Max. I even tried Roxio Toast on a Mac. I use to have a Starchip in my PS2 and switched to the messiah 2. I have backed up lots of cdr based games and all of them work on my PS2. I have come to the conclusion that v4 PS2 will not play RE copied games. So if anyone has a v4 Ps2 and is able to play a RE back-up on it, Please tell me what you did to get it to work. Oh yes the Starchip would NOT play the RE games either. Any Ideas?

The early RE games are kinda wierd. I too had some interesting problems with them. Mine actually work but on my one of my PS1 systems they just will not boot.

I think your problem may just be your v4 ps2 since the v4 lasers are known to wear very quickly. Try the game on another ps2 and see what happens. Preferrably a newer version ps2.

You are correct

Hey Tyler! Thanks for the reply. You are correct. I tried them on my friends and they work fine. I heard the v4 were a bit funky. Even the guy who put my Messiah 2 in my PS2 warned me that the v4 didn't take to the Messiah to well. Anyway my PS2 only had trouble with the RE series. Zellar

Really? Well my V4R is still going with the original Messiah as good as the day I bought it! I guess it's the luck of the draw! :)

Yes you must be lucky, because I owned a v4 and it barely lasted a year.
