xbox fault
I chipped a v1.3 with a Smartbox LPC mod this evening (I have chipped several xbox's with several different chips & this is not the first time I have used this chip in a 1.3 machine).
I got the typical red/green flashing light, so checked my points over & over & ended up removing the chip. Now, with the chip removed the xbox flashes red/orange on boot-up & displays a black screen. I have of course made every attempt to clean the board of solder & check for shorts. Can anybody spread any more light on where my problem lies? Thanx in advance |
Problem sorted.
The tiniest bit of solder was bridging 2 legs on RP6D3 (don't ask how the hell it got over there lol). |
red/orange on boot up means a/v cables are not plugged in, if im not mistaken....

...there is no yellow LED in the xbox, ther are just 2 multi color red/green ones.

Then maybe there is a difference between PAL/NTSC units. If you leave the a/v lead out it flashes green/yellow. It will not however blink 3 times before turning red, so even if you have left the a/v lead out you can tell if the install was successful.
If it flashes red/yellow, you have a board fault (common, but easily fixed when fitting LPC mods). It only displays a fault indication when the do point is grounded, which makes testing the chip very easy. |
the green/yellow flash is for all
the xbox just stops what its doin till it has a connector the newest x2 i believe disables taht although |
Next time you have the red/green flash, pull out your a/v lead & you'll notice that the red/green indication over-rules the green/yellow. I quite often test the machine without the a/v lead connected, so I'm happy to see green/yellow.
Just for the record, this machine took me 4 1/2 hours!!!!! Is that a world record? :D :D :D |
