PlayStation 2 - Ankarah F14 Mod Chip

Does anyone have any helpfull opinons on this Mod chip, is it worth buying for the less wires to solder. I have v4 Ps2

I'd go with a Messiah 2. Although your system's laser may not be in good condition. If it isn't, get a new console. However, I have a V4R and the laser in there is as good as the day I bought it. If this is the case for you, get the M2. I think the F14 is a Clone. Please correct me if I am wrong...

Hope this helps...

I don't think F14 is a clone
It also has an actel chip on it.....
anyway it has nothing to do with m2 or magic( I think)

how good is the f14?

inocent 04-09-2003 14:21

in another forum they said that it boots everything and is very easy to install. but i think this chip is only for pal system, this team said that they will add 2 more point to solder to be use for ntsc systems.

this chip is a compared to messiah 2,but you know messiah2 is the best in my opinion.

Why?

I mean if there is another chip that is just as good with less wires to solder then why still go with the elder?

Now if there was a legit reason that it is inferior to the "almighty M2" then I can understand your statement.

Like you, Tyler, inocent hasn't got an F14. So his viewpoint - (just his opinion, he says), is no less valid than yours.

inocent 04-09-2003 18:03

i'm not even going to say anything about it.

thanks charlie_ps2.

TylerDurden 04-09-2003 18:24

Charles, please dont take this to heart (we all know your partial). I know I dont have one. And if I may say so myself I am very happy with my Messiah 2. But Id like there to be an option to soldering so many wires.

By the way I posted no viewpoint. I just posted a question.

I would go for the definite chip, not much is known about the f14, so getting an M2 and knowing it boots EVERYTHING is what matters.

TylerDurden 04-09-2003 20:30

See now thats an answer I can appreciate.

Although if this new chip proves to be just as good as the M2 and as price efficient as the Apple Pro, Ill go with it.

Tyler!

... but then you'd have to dump the Messiah 2 that you already laid out for. With disassembly and re-assembly how can that be a good deal?

Now if you had a 37 pin rig, you could jave anything you liked!

TylerDurden 05-09-2003 15:54

Now lets not be ridiculous. Im not talking about taking my m2 out just to install another chip. Im just saying that if a new chip comes out with the same or better features and a better price annnnd a lot less wires to connect. I will consider backing that instead of the M2 even though I still have an M2.

Easy girls!!!!!!!

It may be just as good as the M2 but until there r 20+ people on the forum with it installed an totally happy wiv it I wouldn't even consider it a worthy opponent of the m2.

How many chips have claimed to be as good as M2 an then turned out to be a dissapointment?

Regards

TylerDurden 05-09-2003 17:25

In my opinion there are now 3 major chips that are the tops. Apple Pro, M2, and DMS3. Really the only things that seperate them are $$ and wires to solder.

Now if another chip comes out that claims to do everything that these chips do but have the least amount of wires to solder then Im going to recommend that chip from then on. Unless that is, if it costs a buttload of cash for it.
