Pre Chipped PS2 Media Problem
 

I've purchased a pre chipped UK v7 ( SCPH-39003 ) with m2pro, from a respectable person here.

I am having problems getting the PS2's DVD-R Backup's working!!

I've tried the following brands:
"Unbranded x4 Ritek G04" and "ICE White" PS2 DVD-R backups burnt with Pioneer A05 @ x1.

Both brands fail to work in this machine, keep getting the red "please insert disk " screen.

PS1 Backups - Success ( Not All work )
DVD Film/Movie Back-up - Success On unbranded Ritek G04's!!!

PS2 Originals - Work Ok, although i had a problem with " This is Football 2003 " When it tried to load the actual match it just freezed on "loading"

Any ideas??

What prog and steps are you using to make your backups?

Following the DVD Decryptor tutorial!!

Using the latest version 3.1.6.0.

Use Alcohol120 or PrimaDVD. Just make an image, or burn the image you've already made using these progs.

What burning speed do you recommend for game backups?

Also whats wrong with DVD Decryptor if anything??

The fact that its not working for you may be one problem.


Seriously I dont understand why people insist on using something other than the more recommended Record Now Max.

- I doubt that is dvddycrypter, but do try other tools
- most likely a wire came loose

If I'm associated with the respectable person (!!!) then it worked on DVD-R before it was dispatched. That doesn't mean it'll work when it gets to you - that's happened before.

So let's arrange to meet as we're a short stretch of the M4 apart and we'll check it out and have it working again. Bring one of your DVD-Rs as well.

Just an update:

Its definately the chip at fault as the backup DVD-R's i burnt with DVD Decryptor & Stomp both work on a v7 neo 2 modded PS2!

My pre-chipped wont even play PS2 CDR Backups!!!

Looks like an installation problem!!

I'd say a wire came off in transit or something like that. I've e-mailed you for your telephone # and we'll arrange to meet, take the unit off you, get it working again, meet and hand it back!

No probs. Coincidence being in Swindon today!! And just by the Station too.

When I got your PS2 back to the bench, it didn't bboot anything other than PAL originals; neither DVD nor CD.

A wire's come off in the post.
