PS2 Problem
 

Hi,
My mates PS2 has suddenly sparked a problem, and now I have the job of fixing it! Basically, he tripped over the Power cable and it has caused some kind of damage. When you switch the PS2 on, it all works as normal until you put a disc in. It may play fine for a minute or so and then it crashes out to a black screen. It has no modchip installed. I would just like to get an idea of what is wrong before my mate brings it around and so that I know what I am looking for. Thanks a lot in advance...

sounds like overheating
check the fans working
the power supply plugs into fan housing maybe its broken a wire

as log as it wasnt turned on and it didnt take a fall it shouldnt have damaged no pcb components,even if plugged in he be unlucky to have blown any
