xbox modded...now what
 

Ok so I got a mod installed in me box. Xecuter 2.2 lite plus.
Now what?
Just make the xiso file from evox or what?
I cant get passed the darn "insert cd with bios upgrade" screen

what do you mean? Are you using ozXflash, or is that what your box says when you start it up? If u are using ozxflash, just insert another disk with only bios burned to it. Burn it normally, no need for an xbox iso. The tray of the xbox should eject and close automatically, right?

Im using the x2.2 lite plus with the cromwell bios preinstalled on it. I keep getting please insert cd with bios update message. Im not using anything at all other than the modchip. If i disable the chip I get the ms dash but otherwise I get that message.

well, try inserting a cd with only hacked bios burned on it. If that does not work, download ozxFlash from this site. You load that up, after a while it will open the dvd tray automatically and ask for a bios cd. Put a disk with only bios burned to it (renamed to "bios.bin"). Don't hit the eject button, the tray will close automatically after 2 mins. Then it will flash the bios and power off your xbox automatically. The chip should then be flashed and working.

and make sure your using the correct size bios.

Ok, so heres a simple question from a simpleton lol
How do i know what size bios file i need? Theres no documentation with the chip but i recall reading somewhere that
the x2.2 lite plus has a 1mb bios

Oh boy. Ok I flashed the bios to the latest cromwell version but i cant get evox to come on this thing. WHere am I going wrong here?

if you have flashed the chip you will need to download evox and install it on your xbox, if you check qualls website that might put you in the direction to find an iso of evox

I didnt know i dont want the cromwell bios.
I talked to the company that sold me the chip they said all i had to do was install evox.
Ive tried a billion different evox downloads and nothing is working. I keep gettting nothing at all or just that stupid flashbios screen.
I know i need to install evox on here but i cant figure out how, and believe me, ive followed a LOT of guides the last couple days.

Ok, so I got evox to come up with a boot disk, but theres no way to copy it to the hdd so I dont need this stinking disk. FTP cant connect to my box for some reason but all the cables are good and the network settings are correct
So basically its out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Any clue what might be up? Why isnt there a copy to hdd option for evox? Questions questions.

Ok, now look at it this way when you first started this post you never even had evox booted so your farther along than you were. Now heres where you need to check some settings in the evox.ini file first it must be set to use static IP you cannot change this on the XBox but must be done before you burn the disk. Now remember that IP that the XBox is set to, you have to go in to your PC settings if your using a crossover cable (win 95,98,ME go to control panel, double click on network go to tcp/ip for your network card highlight that and click on properties. No change it to specify an IP address make it close but not the same as the XBox (192.168.0.95 PC), (192.168.0.99 XBox) default gateway 255.255.255.0 that should do it !!!

Go to network connections in the control panel go to your LAN connection right click on it go to properties now click on your network tab and click on tcp/ip and go to properties and do the same as above with the IP address and default gate all should be good now. The reason Evox dosen't have a copy to feature is that they figure if you want it bad enough you will figure it out!

Woot! Ok done deal. Didnt use boxplorer but I got evox on here and connected to the network. Now I just need to figure out how to get different apps and backups on here and Ill be set.
Wish me luck or point me towards the tuts. Trying to get X-Commander on here now. Cant seem to get it to copy to E or F tho. Any ideas are welcome, thanks.
