ps2 with messiah 2 chip.

I bought a ps2 with the messiah 2 mod chip. I have burned madden 2004 onto cd and socom navy seals onto cd. The game will start and let you play it for about 5 minutes but then it freezes up. I have been told this could be a copy protection. if so how can you fix this problem or is there a patch to download. I havent seen any patch for madden 2004 any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't sound like copy protection to me.

Sounds like bad media or a problem in the copy process.

What CD-r's r u using.....

What copy software r u using.

R u doing 'On the fly' or making an image first??

Regards

Im using TDK cds. I have tried to burn with nero, alcohol, cdrwin4 all do the same thing. I am burning it at 1x

I am also burning on the fly. should I make an image first

Try better media.

what media would you recommend.

Use verbatim CD-R. They R Tops an won't knacker out yr PS2 laser.

Also never copy on the fly. Make an image an when u burn shut down anything else running in the background ( Even if u do have smart burn/burn proof etc..) as this can effect the burn.

I would give it another try onto tdk but read image onto harddrive first. Then use CDMage to varify that the image is not corrupt, then burn the image as slow as possible back onto cdr.

I would stick with Alcohol120% and make a cloneCD compatible image.

Hope this helps!!

So you are using DVD-Rips.......

When using rips I would suggest using a very high quality cd-r since rips (most of the time) are harder on your laser.....

I personally use Verbatim Datalife CD-R's......

I would also suggest upgrading to a dvd burner (whenever your money permits :) ), because rips are becoming a thing of the past.....

Also, what version PS2 do you have....?
And when was the last time you cleaned the laser in your ps2?

I have edited your post above......

Since you are downloading games, this is where the help STOPS!

I would suggest that you READ THE RULES and abide by them.

You have been warned!

sorry will remember next time.

Most modchip manufactures do not even consider Rips to be legitimate backups. Stick to games you own. No way i would trust some crap downloaded from the net to be 100% quality. No wonder you are having trouble!!

Just wanna clear things up:

Rips are really no different than regular cd based games. All of the data and files are basically the same. Also when the game is aligned in the original game order the rips make less noise when playing. The only bad thing is, orginal games files are not aligned for the best reading.
