I think the thompson drive is the only one that can't read burned cd-r music disks. I suggest copying your cd's to cd-rw's, then put em on your xbox through the music manager. After you do that, erase the disk and copy a new music cd. The xbox can read cd-rw's so they should read fine.

dont u just love the same questions quall?
oo yea
one thing i have to ask though
is cuz i burned a cdrw and tried to put it on my xbox
after about an hour of tedious copying
it said disc dirty
or some crap
why did it do that?
i mean
the disc was beautifully clean
is there anyway to get like mp3s into some sorta playlist area to be recognized as a cd for the xbox so u can listen to it as an album?
like off xbmp?

Ya it takes a really long time to copy music from a CD-RW to an XBox. I have the same prob, but I've never had it tell me the disk was dirty.

yea it sucked
but is there anyway to take the mp3s off the hdd and make em in a playlist format to make the xbox think its a cd?

well, you can stick em on your hdd for xbmp to read.

There is a program called Soundtrack Editor )I think thats the name). You use that to stream over wma files to your xbox where the soundtracks would go. All you have to do is get that, and find an mp3-to-wma converter.
