Problems burning Silent Hill 3

I'm having problems burning the US version of SH3. I'm using PrimoDVD at 1x speed. If I test and burn, then it gives me "Error -10 at Sector 0 - Command:52 Sense:05 ASC:24 ASCQ:00". If I just go ahead and burn it without testing it, then it boots past the PS2 logo to the loading screen. When it gets to the loading screen, my PS2 begins to have problems reading it and it starts to make skipping noises. I've used the same program to burn many other PS2 games and I've never had any problems. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Probably a damaged/dirty original.

Nope, I've tried two different copies. It does it with both.

Try RecordNow Max instead. You can download a 30 day demo here

I don't think it's the program. I'll give RecordMax a try, but I also tried Alcohol and Nero and neither worked.

Your laser on your burner might need to be cleaned. Try a game you have successfully backed up already.

Well, I just successfully backed up Tenchu 3 again, so I guess that's not it.

What burner is this and are you using the burner to read or a dvd-rom? Maybe a change in firmware or ASPI might help...? I have seen people have no luck with two originals before the third worked.

I have a Pioneer DVR-A05. I use another drive for reading most of my cds, if that's what you need. I'll check for firmware, but why would it only have problems with one game?

Try reading with your burner instead. Some firmwares are morereliable than others. This is likely not the issue but a possibility.
