counterstrike half life.
 

I have recently downloaded counter strike and when I installed it and try to open it, it says one of the file is missing. I believe is the hl.dll file or some sort. please help. thanks

Maybe he downloaded the CS mod version and is trying to use that without HL ?

Dosen't that making the status warez...or is the line betwen warez and legaly user... so dame thin? :confused:

it´s nothing about warez, cs is a free modification
but it won´t run without hl.

If I don't remember wrong.. Half-life is not free.
And CS have came out in reatail boxes....:eek:

Yes, but anyone is free to try running the CS mod without half-life, even if that doesn't have much chance of success. If he starts going on about downloading HL, then I'll have to intervene.

yes...i did downloaded CS from a site. i dont' know if it was a warez page or ftp page...? :confused:
what is the significance of the hl.dll file? what does it do to the program? is it the main program to make the game work? :rolleyes:
well in any case..hl is missing and the game doesn't even start.

That doesn't sound too legal. I'm going to close this thread, please buy either Counterstrike Retail or a version of Half-Life, you need one of these and a valid serial key to play the game anyway.
