I read an article that said Sony Japan is hiring experienced emulator programmers to work on a new project. The rumor is that they are going to try emulating PS2/1 on a PS3.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of this and even more interesting to see how Microshaft handles the new Box. The new Xbox2 will pretty much have to run Xbox1 games to match or really piss off a lot of Xboxers already invested (and they might leave the Darkside).

There is no way in hell they will spend the money and time to build an emulator to emulate the PS1 & PS2. They will just make it so it can play these games. Its all made by Sony so there for the system it would play with no question.

hahaha you are missing the point. The emulator would be embedded in the PS3 system code so that when you put in a PS1/2 disc it would run normally and the emulator would be working without you knowing it. So in effect, it "will just make it so it can play these games."

Nah I don't think so. They wouldn't wast that kind of time and money to do that. It would be pointless.
