Oldie Request: Need No-cd for Forsaken 1.01.
 

Recently I picked up an old copy of Forsaken for $10 and after updating it with the patch I have found there are no no-cd for this version (released in late 1998). Any help?

Best bet is to us copy protection scanner to figure the out protection first.

Think it was protected with some older version of Securom...

Have you tried the patches at gamecopyworld? Even if they are german it might be worth a try.

German patch.
 

GCW has 1.00 for spanish and 1.01 for german - neither works. I need 1.01 for english...

Hi BFett, I'm not sure whether I grabbed an already existing no-CD patch for Forsken (yes, version 1.01) or made one myself but it works for me. If you don't succeed, drop me an E-mail.

Okay, gonna make a no-CD patch within a few days and send it to you as well as sumbit it to GCW. Keep watching your mailbox. :)

The English 1.01 Forsaken Patch is not protected at all, just has a CD Check and a Registry check to make sure it's installed correctly. And you don't need 'days' to make a NoCD only about 5 minutes work for both of the EXE's :D /me pulls Joe's leg.

And it still runs fine on WinXP + GeForce 3, now that was a surpise :)

It didn't take me days to _crack_ the game, I just didn't have time to _create patches_ out of the changes...

Anyway, there's seems to be an even newer upgrade (1.02?) available at http://www.acclaim.com/games/forsaken/Patch.html and there's a no-CD patch for it at http://www.megagames.com/cgi/downloa...h=SR-FORS9.ZIP . I haven't tried these yet though...

[...] Whoops, wrong! That's _still_ is the 1.01 upgrade there but then I don't understand why the no-CD patch is not working at all, complaining about some completely different file sizes... Maybe, it's for a different language version?

Yes, real life sometimes makes things like making/sending patches a bit difficult, so no worries.

I downloaded the 1.01 English patch from www.patches-scrolls.com, the NoCD you link to from megagames seems to be for a patch dated 09/29 which is an earlier patch, not the v1.01 patch. I found a few sites that mention it via Google but can't download it. The 1.01 patch appears to be the final patch anyway.

If they removed the securom ****, it should not be too hard to kill the cd-check...

I've already done it like Joe has, but Joe offered to help by sending his files to GCW first so it's his baby :)
