can't download a special file
 

hi !

my problem is that I can't download the sp/mp nocd crack for battlefield1942 1.4

till now all the files worked good, but this one can't be downloaded. i always get a .rar archive with 0Kb. it can't be opened. the download lasts about 1 second, the 3Mb can't get downloaded in such a short time ! plz help ! i don't know what to do ! the file is at

sometimes in the description of the file there stands that it would be a .txt file (only in the download window)

I don't use a downloadmanager or sth. like that. i don't get any errors. i tried all servers.

my internet connection and these things are surely ok.

The archive was updated 4 times by the creator but the last send file was not updated on my end...

the file should be:

empire, when i use your link as:

http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/dl.cgi?...1.4_nocd_proper

i always get the answer no server would have this file (page cannot be found).

if i use it as

http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/dl.cgi?...42_v1.4_nocd_rp!rar

(with the !rar)

its the same, cannot find the file at any server.



if i use krondike's link, the same things happen as at my first post. (0Kb rar file or txt file)



I'm from Germany and I met many people who have the same problem ! (in froums or sth like that). we easily can't download it ! all the other files work !! pwerhaps u have to update it one more time, i don't know. But i'm optimistic Empire gets that work ;)


I think this is a very important patch many users would need !
hmm, perhaps i'll buy trtr so that i don't need the patch for battlefield anymore. i can use the one for trtr and the problem is solved ;D we'll see.

The problem seems to be that the vbulletin software that runs this board, automatically breaks off links when it encounters a "!" character. Take a look at the links ending in "!rar", the link (the underlined part) does not get to the end. The solution ? Just right-click on the link, copy shortcut, paste that in the address bar of your browser, and then add "!rar". When you press enter, you will get to the correct page (it works for me at the moment).

I tried both solutions. one with !rar and one without. both didn't work. today i tried it once over the normal site, klicked on the quicklink to bf1942, navigated to the patch, and what a wonder, it worked !! thx @ empire

now it works ! i don't know what the problem was, but now i can download it.

now i can download the file, the rar archive has 3,9 Mb but if i open it (i use winace) there are no archives ! i can only press the "unpack everything to here" button, but i only get the small .txt file that is in the archive !! hmmmpppfffff.....

now i install winrar. (winace works good, but u never know...) and when it still doesn't work, i guess u have to change anything at the file. but download now works well, thx....

with winace I could always open all *.zip files, *.rar files, *.ace, *.lha, *.ms-cab, *.arc, *.arj, *.gzip, *.tar, *.zoo, *.jar,.......

but there is a little, little piece of hope in me that thinks it can be opened with winrar....
