A different back-up method...HELP!!
Okay. To relieve the bordem I read about a different back-up method that can be used so thought I would try it out...
It basically works like this. You but yr original dvd in, Drag and drop all the files off the ps2 dvd to a directory on yr PC. Then using CD_DVD Generator by Sony you use the files you have along with the ones that the program creates and save the lot as an .IML file. Then you use IML2ISO to convert what you have to a .ISO file. Then you can use any burning program to burn the .iso file. The problem I have is that I drag and drop all the files into a directory but when I use CD_DVD breator, the only option it has for building up the image is to insert a directory. So instead of putting a lsit fo files on to the vertual iimage ready to burn I put a directory in ( like ottomangash) with all the files in. What I want to do is build up the imag without putting in the directory that the files are held in. Can anyone help??? |
use drag and drop

|
Don't know how u did it. I tried google and it was as useful as a chocolate fireguard claiming to never have heard of it!!
Thanx m8 |
Thanx again for the help.
Have two small problems now. The first is when I use CDDVD Helper on auto, i stick in the list file, i stick in the .cz file and i stick in the path that the game files are in and hit go but the report comes up with "missing" for each file. I assume that means it can't find the game file but the path is right for the game files. Second one. How do you use cdmage to convert from mode 1/2048 to mode 2/2352. Have loaded in a mode 1 iso as a practice run but cannot find any option to convert to mode 2/2352. Thanx in advance for any ideas. Regards |
And, yeah dust, usually I would just drop it in and copy but have no experience of ripping etc so thought I would batter my head around this method just for reference really.
Regards......... |
Problem is that if the TOC is messed with, you won't be able to SEE all the files, and this happens sometimes. :(

???...........
All the game files r in a folder. All of them have been drag n dropped into cddvd gen. Saved to a ccz file. Also have isobuster text file( list of contents.) I open up cddvd helper, put in text file path, put in .ccz path and put in directroy where game files r. I leave on auto and hit start, it brings up message confirming all 3 paths that i have put in which r totally spot on. Then it says complete but brings up log that says that all the files are missing. They definitely r there so I am v. confused. but whats bugging me more at the mo is converting a mode1/2048 .iso file to a mode2/2352 file using cdmage. I can find no option on it that offers to convert one image to another?? Can anyone help?? |
I haven't even got to making an image yet so toc won't even exist yet!!!!
The problem seems to be getting cddvd helper to find the game files from the text list and the paths I put in. |
okay, so another step ahead, now have a mode1/2048 file.
Have loaded it into cdmage and then extracted a .tao file in mode2/2352 format. This leaves me with a 2 gig .tao file. Have tried to load it back into cdmage to make a cue/bin file and it wont have it. I get a message about file being truncated if I load it as a mode2/2352 file. If i load it as a raw file it loads but it is only 300Mb in size ( totally wrong!!) any help?? |
