Are you creating an image of the game on the hard drive first OR are you trying to copy on the fly?

What burner do you have?

jackassjeff2 20-07-2003 00:57

what cd burner ummm it says "hp cd-writer 9700 series" im using the directions on ummm here is the link http://www.psx-paul.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/clonecdv4.htm

BG 20-07-2003 10:15

So you are able to create a GOOD image of the game on your hard drive correct? (no read errors or anything? )

What brand of cd-r's are you using? (You are using cd-r & not cd-rw?)

Also, have you tried cleaning the laser in your burner with a cleaning disc?

What speed are you trying to burn at?

Trying to rule out all possibilities..... (Still may be your burner )

jackassjeff2 20-07-2003 12:36

im using fujifilm discs and they are cd-r's not cd-rw's i have tried all the burning speeds it doesn't go past 1% and there where no errors when putting it on my harddrive. i really think it has to do with my burner.

if it is my burner then i will get a dvd burner and if i was burning dvd based games do i need to put them on dvd-r's or cd-r's?

jackassjeff2 20-07-2003 14:56

i have about $250 (canadian) to spend on a dvd drive for my cpu but i don't know wich one to get or wich ones can burn ps2 games so im asking for your help to tell me a good dvd drive to get

BG 20-07-2003 18:05

Then if you have the money, get the Pioneer A05.

No NEED to get the A06 since the only difference is the ability to burn +R/+RW discs which you don't need anyways....

The A05 is 100% Clone CD compatible also.

If you are burning DVD Based games then put them on a DVD-R...
If you are burning CD Based games then put them on a CD-R....

I would rec. Ritek for DVD-R....

And Verbatim for CD-R.... (You can get 100 of them for around 25 bucks.... US Funds)

jackassjeff2 20-07-2003 19:16

ok if I can afford it theni will get it thanks for the help with picking a good dvd drive

jackassjeff2 20-07-2003 21:47

how much is one of them?

bighap 20-07-2003 22:46

You can get it for $169 here. Good company. Got my A04 from them.

jackassjeff2 21-07-2003 00:22

ok that's a good price but i have one more question about it

my cd burner isn't good enough to burn ps2 games so will i be able to use the dvd burner as my main burner and can it read and burn onto rw's?

lufcfan 21-07-2003 00:45

Yes you can use the DVD-R/W for your main burner. The A05/105 is perfect for burning PS2 games on CD as well as well as CD-R.

Hope this Helps...

jackassjeff2 21-07-2003 10:11

ok that's good because the person who i get all my cpu stuff from is my uncle and if he takes out my original burner we get a discount and he also sells stuff at the lowest price he can. and ya it dsoes help

jackassjeff2 25-07-2003 16:06

i need some help on wich games to buy for the ps2 i want a good game but i can't think of any to buy so please help me out and give me some sugestions

ottoman 25-07-2003 16:30

Your CD Burner is probably fine to burn CD based ps2 games. The problem is CloneCD is quite difficult to use and a bit picky about what burners it will support. I recomend Alcohol 120%. Not only is it a good copy program but it will also burn just about any image made by any copy program ( CloneCD Images Included).

CloneCD is very over rated and I have never had any problems copying PS2 CD based games without going anywhere near CloneCD as I also have a burner which isn't favoured by CloneCD.

Give Alcohol120% a try!!!!!
