PS2 Slide Card
 

OK, since i dont have any experience in soldering and dont have a soldering iron i was either gonna get the No-Solder Mod Chip or the PS2 Slide Card. I was wondering, which one would be a better choice. The PS2 slide card sounds more easier to use then the no-solder chip. And how does the slide card work?

The slide card is garbage. Not sure what version ps2 you have, but it won't work on v7 and newer systems. The no solder isn't that good but it is better if you have a v1-v6. There are people who can install a real mod for you if you have the cash. Where you located?

Yes it works but only on v1-v6 systems. This method is not recommended as it invloves jamming a foreign object into your ps2, almost certainly resulting in damaging your ps2. You are much better off getting a mod chip.

So what chip do you recommend? Is it difficult to install?

Messiah 2 is a great choice. If you have very little or zero soldering experience it is best to get a pro to install it for you. PM dust2dust. He can install it for you as well as tell you where to get a Messiah 2.;)

I have a question while we arfe on the topic. I have a v7 ps2 and the no solder mod is working fine (as well as it can [yes i know M2 is better)], is it just me, or have all websites stop selling the no solders for anything above v4?

i guess the real question i have is, why would they stop selling the no solder over the slide card? the slide card dpes sound like a piece of crap...

They still sell them. You can get them at www.modchip-sbox.com v7 no solder are the hardest to come by.

Well see here's the scoop.

If you ate a mod chip for lunch and took a ****, you'd have a no-solder mod. Just ram all that **** inside your case, that's about how much good it'll do you.

But then if you ate THAT ****, and took ANOTHER ****, smooshed it under a book and let it dry and harden, you'd have a slide card.

They don't sell no-solder mods because they're too "ripe" and "fresh". The slide cards are dried and don't smell as bad any more.

hi so ur saying the non solder mods are a bit crummy i am thinkin of getting a messiah 2 butt donno where to get one from i live in the uk but i carnt solder too well!
