Macro disable ??
Does anyone know if the new colour bios`s disable the macrovision or not ?
|
If its one of the newer X2 BIOS than I'm 99.9% sure it dose.
If you want to find out for sure, flash your chip with the BIOS, hook your XBox up to your VCR, pop in a blank VHS, put a DVD in your XBox and start to record the movie. If the video turns light to dark (some times red depending on the VCR) than you know macro-vision is not off. If you don't see the light to dark than the macro-vision is mostly off. Or you just lucky enough to have a VCR that dose not pic it up. On another note, I have read some things about modding the VCR so it won't pick it up. But if you screw up, your SOL with a dead VCR. Now I do know they make boxes to remove the macro-vision. I have one my self, works great. |
I have a feeling it does`nt ..
I reflashed an apple x3 to a colour bios, if i hook up the xbox through my DVD+rw recorder, all i get is flashing colours, ( on any screen ) no colour lock ??, but it works fine when hooked up direct. I never tried before i updated, but any other device inputed to the recorder works fine... |
Hmmm, maybe the coloerd ones don't do it than.
You mite have to buy some thing like this: Macro-Vision Remover I have one of these at home and it works great. I don't have this same one, but I'm sure it works the same. You should be able to buy one at Radio Shack or even Best Buys. |
Thanks for the link ... I think I may have one around here some place ...
Or i may just pick up a Norcent 300 player from wallymart, seems with new firmware you can put 120gb HD`s in these puppies .. http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=35 double hmmmm |
