could someone please list the steps in order for a newbie.

You will be lucky if you get any answers with people helping you in wrecking your PS2 console using the "knife trick" method :)

My cousin did it and he does it just fine, so any help please.

It will work for a while then your ps2 will fall apart on you. Spend $180 on a new ps2 or buy a $20 mod chip. No brainer there.
