Postal 2 problems *update*
I have installed the game, applied the official 1337 patch, and used a fixed/no-cd exe. The error message I get is this:
"The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Postal2\System\vorbisfile.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thanks ahead of time :-) -Chris -- *update* -- I have since downloaded generic versions of the files: vorbis.dll, ogg.dll, vorbisfile.dll. Now I am getting this error when I try to run Postal2.exe: <?int?Engine.Errors.FailedBrowse?> <?int?Core.Errors.History?>: UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine Thanks. |
i forgot to mention, I checked the .dll file mentioned and it appears to be the same as the one on the cd i have. Any ideas/sugestions?
Thanks. |

Bumping is a good way to get a thread locked.
You've made no mention on how the game runs without the no-cd crack. |
could it be that you might need to install the ogg vorbis audio codec?
|
Reinstall the thing from you original CD:s.
Seems that it's something wrong with your backup becuase of the "not a valid Windows image" message. That's only happens when a file, isn't that size the CRC (I think the name is) whant it to be. And it's seams that the .dll file it's only copied fragments....that's mean the hole .dll file didn't copy well. And the .dll file seams to be specific design for the game. so REINSTALL the game from your ORIGNAL CD! still got problem, contact the local tech support! |
my backup version of postal 2 works fine but alas this stupid radeon card won't let me play it :( so i have to wait for my fiancee to update his computer (again) for a new graphics card but i've finnished the game and well its a bit of a let down .....snip
Dont spoil the game for others.... :p -BW |
