cd-tray failure no-solder chip
hello,
the no-solder modchip with swapmagic disk worked fine on my psx2 v.6 but now I have a big problem. Here are the instructions to change the discs: Boot up the Swap Magic 2 "DVD" disk. Wait for the PS2 to boot up until "Insert Disc" message appears on the screen. Now hold the "Eject" button until the power indicator turns from green to orange. The CD tray will open, Change the Swap Magic 2 disk with your PS2 DVD game disk. The CD tray will close within 3-5 seconds. here it goes wrong, the cd-tray is not closing. It stay open the whole time. After the CD tray closes press "X" on your controller, your PS2 backup will now load. please help thanks |
check the install, mabye that cable is a little loose
the power/eject cable |
No I checked that allready.
Normal games work fine. The cd-tray is going open and close when you push the button. |
I beleive I remember someone else having this same problem a while back...
I think it turned out to be a faulty chip..... |
I thought also that it was the chip. But it works the first month ok.
So I ordered another one. I installed it correctly. But this one is even worser. When you hold down the eject button the cd-tray is not opening. So the first chip is getting one step further. It opens after you hold down the eject button but then it won't closing. So then I have really bad luck if both chips are faulty!!! Do you know for shore if the problem is the chip? By the way I ordered it by modchip.com |
my friend claims that his no soldier chip messed up his tray, made it not eject fully, so who knows
