I bought a xbox from some dude for 125$ with 4 games and i play it and it has 5000+ mem blocks dose this mean it has a hardrive cause theres no mem cards in this as u can tell im not a big xbox fan took me a sec to figer out how to use it i bought it cause of the good price figer i could sell it make some bucks cause i heard there games suck and r very hard to copy theres only a few games i would like to play on this system a couple of rpg's that looked good thats about it also i got splinter cell with this system :) now i dont have to do the apple mod open close BS heh and i know this has nothing to do with ps2 but i figerd i would get a quicker response here then at the xbox fourm BTW dose any body still use that foum :)

All xboxes come with a 8 gig HD! No memory card needed!
I don't have a xbox but I heard the games are hard to copy, I think you have to link the xbox to your computer because a normal dvd-rom won't read it!

You have to have a network link to the XBox, log in from your PC and copy the game over the network to your hard disk on your PC... then burn it from there.

Easy enough.

But you will need a MOD chip in order to play the game.

somes hard to do but i do have a ethernet card on my pc so it may not be to hard i heard the mods was easier to install then the ps2 mods i dont know if i would ever get into the xbox that much to start makeing games it will take awhile to get use to that bulky contoler lol

backing up xbox games is actually very easy it is setting up the network between the xbox and pc which is the hard part. once you have that done any one could backup a xbox game heck my 9 year old sister can do it. no honest i'm serious she can.!

Backing up games on the Xbox HD only requires a PC for the first time you install the software on the Xbox.

Later when you have a program like HDDLoader installed (requires a modchip), you simply put the game you'd like to have on your Xbox HD into your Xbox and let that program copy the game (just requires 2 button clicks), this is normally done within 5-8 minutes for bigger games. Since there are many games that are about 4 - 5 GB its recommended to install ab bigger HD than the standard.

so you just need to:

>get a modchip and install it

>get Slayer's Autoinstalller (will automatically install all of the important programs such as, evo-x, xbmp, HDDLoader...), this program is also very comfortable when you want to set up a new HD

Usually takes a little less than twice the time to copy a Xbox game as it does for a PS2 game. Mainly due to the slow DVD drive in the Xbox. I also hated the large controllers and elongated button setup. I bought a couple of the S Type controllers and they are much more comfortable to use. The mods themselves are way easier to install then PS2 mods. Some require no soldering. Many of the ones that do require soldering require no real skill. Nothing nearly as hard as the BIOS on a PS2, don't even need all that nice of a soldering iron.

I have to agree with headly on the chipping: gettin' my Xbox chipped with a LPC Mod V2.0 was way easier than gettin' a Magic 3.1 into my V3 PS 2 (actually it isn't done yet).

Only about 9 wires to solder and the Xbox was all set, and disassembling a Xbox is also a lot more easier than disassembling a PS 2.

For the controllers, I like the standard ones more than the S ones. I personally think that the standard Xbox controller is even slightly better than the Dreamcast controller, but actually I never really disliked any original controller for a system.

Btw, instead of backing up on DVDs I'd recommend you consider buying a bigger HD for your Xbox (80 GB or 120 GB). You don't have to switch discs all the time, your originals won't get harmed plus loading procedures for games and apps will be shortened due to faster access times.
