DVD-R or DVD+R ???????????

Hello all

I am new to this forum and plan to be here quite abit in the future.

My question to you experts is, which format is better for backing up PS2 games DVD-R or DVD+R or does it make any difference?

Which is better for backing up movies?

I am going to buy a DVD burner in the near future and I don't want to make the same mistake as when I bought my first CDRW, it was a piece of Sh!T. (creative 4224)

What make/models are good?
A lot of people seem to like Pioneer here. I have a Pioneer DVD-ROM and no complaints here with it.

I couldn't find any recent threads on this topic but if you know of some please direct me to them. Maybe an FAQ page or something like that.

Thanks

Junkman

-r is more liked by ps2. It is cheaper too. Either -r or +r will work for movies, but be sure to use the format that your dvd player supports. Look here to see what type of media your dvd player supports. Customer satisfaction is basically what makes a dvd burner good, and nearly everybody who has a Pioneer is very happy with it. I know I am very happy with mine.:)

yep same here. i have tried all the formats at some time or other. -r is more compatible with more products and generally cheaper to.

i just got my pioneer a05 and i'm very impressed with the performance

The primary issue here is that ESPECIALLY older PS2's (v4 and lower) will NOT read +R media, but MIGHT read -R.
