DMS 3 Modchip
 

Hi there!

When I read all the stories about the other modchips....all the problems with ps1 games, backups, non-backups...whatever...then I'm really thinking about letting my PS2 unmodded.

What do you think about the DMS 3?

These problems you read about are not due to the chip it self, but due to the condition your ps2 laser is in or if there was a bad install job done.

The DMS3 is a good chip, but do you really want to fork out the extra cash for those extra that most could care less about? If you want a chip that plays every backup every time no questions asked, get a Messiah 2.

Yes, but it still isn't quite up to par with the Messiah 2, even after several updates.

What is about the laserlens?
Can't I just put the Modchip into my Console? Like with the PSOne?

Yes you can just put a mod in like with the psone, but your laser has to be in good shape to be able to play dvd backups. If you have a v5 or higher you will be fine.

only a certain part of the chip can be upgraded

hence v1 and v2
soon to be v3 i guess scph5000
