Could be the chip. What version ps2 do you have?
|
I have a v4 pal unit. if i replace it should i get apple or messiah. im from australia and apple is alot cheaper but i want a good chip what do u think
|
It could be the chip, or your v4's laser might just be cooked. :(

Could be the laser as I cant play anything.Seems funny that all worked well till I put in the chip. Can modchips stuff lasers up?
If its the magic chip what should I replace it with Apple or messiah |
You could have blown a fuse. Do a bit of searching, there were a bunch of tips posted a month or so ago.

The problem was a double whammy the magic 3.1 died and my laser also died. Any ideas about which way to go, should i try magic again or try the apple2,messiah too expensive. p.s does anyone know a good reliable chip seller in australia?
|
If the Messiah is too expensive, I recommend the Apple 100%. :)
I haven't yet found a game that can't be made to boot with it, although Splinter Cell can be problematic IF you have a V7 console. My V4 console boots everything, 100% of the time. - Gurm |
What type of problems with splinter cell? As im about to get a version 7 pal machine, its going to cost too much to fix my v4 machine, however splinter cell worked fine with my magic
|
The Splinter Cell problem is only with the original apple in a v7 system I believe. look here
|
Yeah. V7 only, "apple" only (as far as I know, haven't tested a mini pro or an apple 2 myself yet).
