Counter-Strike not patching
 

When I got Counter-Strike (The retail version) I couldn't play it online. This of course was because the game was not patched. I downloaded the most recent patch. When I try to patch it, however, the program does not recognize Counter-Strike. It says Counter-Strike does not exist in that directory, but of course, it does. What could be wrong?

reinstall, maybe registry entries are missing

Also, make sure you download the correct version of the patch. For cs retail, you need the cs1005.exe patch (1.21Mb), the mod patch has a different name.
