divx on xbox
my xbox is modded with a executer lite 2.0 and was just wondering if i can play divx movies on it. i have 3 seasons of a cartoon show and i would hate to encode each one to svcd, which would then take up more space on a disc. as for me i would rather put season 1,2, and 3 on a dvd-r and watch them all.....is this possible?
|
Yes you can with an app called "XBMP" (Xbox Media Player). You can out it on your HDD or cd/dvd and play divx, wma, mpg, etc... It supports many different types. however, I cannot tell you where to get it do to legality.

do u know if it can play ogm? which i think is a divx but with .ogg sound.
|
Here's the official site -->XBMP
It has a list of what it can play. The newest divx addition would be divX 5.03. |
thanx for the help quall :) ....maybe i messed it or something but i didnt find where it says it can play the older divx. like for example 3.11 or 4.12. could u enlighten me on this :) i really appreciate it
|
the front page shows an update, which included 5.03. I'm pretty sure it can play the older divX movies, as I used to play divX before that release.

oops...i spoke too soon...haha. when i unzipped the xbox media player, it had many files so i was jus wondering how do i burn this? do i burn these files in data method or do i have to convert these files to iso?
|
Either or. It really doesn't matter. However, you might want to edit the cinfiguration (config.xml) before you burn.
