is it safe to backup on black-dye cd-r?
i've got this game that i acquired. i can play it on my ps2 ver4 messiah2pro console w/no problems. it's an import japanese game. but i'm noticing that my console is unusually vibrating. i don't hear no noise, but i can feel it shaking. it was burned on memorex black cd-r via pioneer a05u. any suggestions?

I would try reburning on a normal cdr. Stay away from the black ones. These generaly suck. Edited your post to make it avide by forum rules.;)

thanks bighap, sorry for that error.

I use black CDR media all the time for PSX and PS2 CD games. No problems.
BUT... I always burn at 16x on this media, even when it's rated for higher than that. :) - Gurm |
same here, Mirror black dye based cd-r's and Mirror purple dye based cd-r's are all I use for PS / PS2 cd games. never had any problems with them, however I always burn on my Plex using PowerRec technology to get make sure I get a good burn.
Plextor rules the cd-r business in my opinion :p |
Plextor. Before that I had Liteon, and before that Plextor.
There are only two drives in the business. :) Well, some people swear by these Pioneer DVD-R drives. *shrug* - Gurm |

I will also swear by LG (depending on the model)...... |
