Just a quick qestion about the x2 lite and re-flashing the bios
 

OKay I'm gearing up to buy a whole new chip and put the newest bios on that bad boy...but I noticed everyplace sells the x2 lite with the linux cromwell bios. I was just wondering how easy is it to switch it to a newer bios? I'm getting really un-easy looking around at a few sites that are issuing warnings about turning your chip into useless crap and I'm just wonderinf how easy it was. If it's a real pain in the ass then I'd probably just grab the x2 pro and fiddle with the re-flasher thing it comes with. Anyway any and all help would be really great. Thanks!

Nowadays I think the Pro version is only about $14 more than the Lite. That sounds like a small price to pay if you are afraid of bad flashing.

yeah same here. It's 65 bucks with shipping. I;m also worried about cutting my case to make the port stick out. I don't want to screw my xbox all to hell ya know. I did it once and I didn't get away from it scott free (I've got a nasty boot problem, every now and again the system will try to boot three times then flash red and green) But I got a video on how to do the x2 lite and it looks crap loads simpler to do. (I'm assuming the x2 pro is a similar easy install).

the pro is exactly the same as the lite only you slide the wires for the port through the A/V port (no cutting or drilling nesessary)

Spend $25 more and get your self a nice little programmer. This was if you ever do have a bad flash, pop the chip out, stick it on the programmer and fix it.

I think I'm gonna go x2 pro 2.1 (console corner is accepting pre-orders why the hell not jump on the bus) it's only 15 bucks more for whole thing with the ability to re-flash the bios and I figure do it now while I have the cash funds.

Cool. The Console Corner is a great place to get chips, they are cheap, fast and just good to deal with.
