Alternaltive Flash Method

Don't know if anyone is aware of this, but i just figured it out and thought i'd post it.

i have a modded xbox and i was in the process of modding my buddies xbox. they all have the x2 lite and everyone probably knows by now that they are shipped with the linux bios and that they are a little more difficult to update the bios on as oppose to the X2Pro.

What i did was:
-popped open my xbox and removed the drives, leaving the wires in tact.
-booted up the xbox to the evox dash
-removed the mod from my xbox while the xbox is running
-lightly connected the new mod(for easy removal)
-went to the update bios feature and updated the new mod as if it were the the mod i orginally installed.


A lot of messing around but worked out well for me because i had to update 3 X2lite's & 2 X2pro's.

This is known as the "hot-swap" method. I’ve known a few people have done this as well… Nothing bad happened but I still think they are insane. Its like plugging in the power cord to a new HDD while your PC is on, sure it can be done, but not a very good idea.

Most likely nothing bad will happen, but theres the possibility that it mite. I really didn’t like the idea of having my XBox on while I was installing my Matrix. I would move it a little, check it, and repeat 'til it was in place properly.
