DVD-R and WinRar
I downloaded a couple of dvds that are a little over 4Gig each. When i start extracting the files i get the message NTFS only supports files up to 4 gigs is there any way around this?. BTW I am using WinXP pro with sp1 and the latest Winrar, I have checked the files and they seem okay. Can anyone help. :?

Assuming the dvd's are copyright free...you will need to change your hard drive's file format from FAT32 to NTFS.
FAT32 simply can't handle files bigger that 4GB - there is no workaround to this. Powerquest's Partionmagic can change your file system without a format I believe. |
I'm pretty sure you can do this in Windows XP.
Control Panel Administrative Tools Computer Management Disk Management I think you get the option to convert from FAT32 to NTFS. |
