Problems with safedisk v2

I have burnt MS Train SImulator but when i install it, it gets to the 2nd CD then gives me an Error message saying: Unable to Vertify Media - Installation Failed. My burner can't burn RAW - DAO so i can't use CloneCD. I have even tried Daemons Tools and using the "Emulate SAfedisk" option, but i still i get the same error. Thanks

the only thing you can do now is find a crack and download it in order to install and play the game.if you could post the type of burner you have there would be more peeps to answer you...

You may want to try mounting your clonecd image file (I hope you didn't delete it!) and running off that rather than an imperfect cd. There shouldn't be any need to have any emulation ticked in DT.

Whilst your burner may not be able to burn DAO RAW so as to copy sd2 or sd2, it still should have read the disc correctly to allow it to be mounted in DT.

i have got a crack for it. But thats only on the 1st Disc. The 2nd CD doesn't have a .exe and has SafeDisk 2 protection on it. I can install from the 1st CD fine but when it asks me for the 2nd CD it spits it out and says Unable to Vertify Media - Installation Cancelled.
My Burner is a LG 8080b CDRW

Are these discs original, or are you using copies on cdr?

Happy_Guy1 07-02-2002 19:54

i have burnt from original CDs but they wouldn't work. (unable to install) Now i am trying to make the backup i made work.

crispy 08-02-2002 05:15

I'm not 100% sure whether your error is caused by a corrupted cdr, or the protection mechanism being unable to verify as original. Since I don't have this title, I cannot be sure completely.

Unsafedisc will only work if a working cd is in the drive to start with. This is because the game.exe file must be decrypted before the dumper can unwrap it. The cd is required for this to happen.

daemon tools can only emulate so much of sd2's protection missing from a poor copy.

The only way these cds will work now is to use a cracked/fixed game.exe file as themis suggested.

Happy_Guy1 08-02-2002 19:14

i think the ERROR message is caused by the CD Protection. I have got a cracked .exe for the 1st CD but the 2nd CD (Safedisk v2) doesn't have any .exes

Because you say you can't use Clone CD, you probably used something like Nero. So I believe you might have labelled the disk wrong.

Happy_Guy1 10-02-2002 20:16

nope, i am very careful at renaming. I renamed the CDs carefully, so i don't think that is the problem. I'm pretty sure its the Protection....

Why don't you try making a new image from the original cd's using clonecd with the correct settings. It does not matter if your writer isn't supported since you're not writing any cd, only use it for making an image. If you use Daemon Tools to mount the image, everything should run fine.

themis_t 11-03-2002 13:26

i think that clone cd will help you....

I read through other posts and I also have an LG CDRW CED 8080b burner. I have been trying to burn C&C:Renegade which has Safedisc 2. On Renegade it is Safedisc 2.51. I have said I have read through other post which regard Scandisc 2 and 2.51 and have read and experienced that the LG CDRW CED 8080b cd burner WILL NOT COPY OR WRITE ANY PROGRAM WITH SAFEDISC 2 OR SAFEDISC 2.51 WITH ANY BURNING PROGRAM. But what you can do is get a trial version of cd clone. Then create a cd image with a cue sheet in a folder (write where you put the files). Then use a program like playbackup to patch the image. The enable playbackup to run after installing it with the setup program in the directory which it is. Then burn the patched image back to a CD-R and use playbackup to run the game.

    :(
