Brute Force
today I got and tried to back up brute force only to discover it was 5.11 gigs worth of space. (of course too much to back up onto a normal dvd-r) The reason why is the amount of demos that come packed in the game. (I think Microsoft did that on purpose in order to prevent back-up.)
Interestingly enough though I came up with an interesting solution for everybody. So here it is: a simple tutorial for the noobs on how to back up brute force! I hoping this will keep 2 million posts about how to back-up brute force off the board. Also if any of my guide is against the rules of the board please take it down immediately and notify me of my error. My intentions are good so I'm hoping this helps. 1) rip the game into your hard drive. 2) patch the xbe file with your patcher if needed 3) Open the folder where you have brute force stored. Click on Fx folder (this is the tao fang demo) and click to enter it. From there delete all the files inside. 4) Back out and go to the Mech folder. Click on it to go inside and delete all the files from here as well. 5) Return to the main folder again and click on videos this time around (ya got the right folder if it has amped2 files and other various games) and delete them. 6) back out and check the total space of the game without these files. It should read 4.37 gigs! Perfect for a DVD-R! There ya go. On a side note I left the empty folders on the burn and I would recommend others to as well. The menu for the demos is still there but the files are gone so the xbox won't know anything missing unless you try to play the demos. |
I salute you for any attempt to keep 3 million noobs from asking the same damn questions over and over - but they usually don't bother reading anything anyway
|
Thanks for the salute! Yeah I figured so much but I said what the hell you guys helped me so I'm gonna help people back. Hopefully it's working out for everybody. I still haven't extensively tested out brute force yet.....my girlfriend has been hoggin all my video game time so I can cuddle with her So if anybody runs into any bugs or what not using this method of backing up the game let me know. I don;t see that it should though, after all it is only the demos being deleted, i mean I checked a few times and everything to make sure you weren;t getting rid of an improtant game file but ya never know with the way people get with copy right protection.

Oh so you asked her to play with your joystick? :D :D
|
LMAO yeah prety much. Actually she's a big gamer as well. She's not gonna let me play brute force until she can play with me. right now she's playing ratchet and clank.
|
sounds like you found a keeper to me!! :D
|
Definitely a keeper, she's big into RPGs and platformers. It's great cuddling up to her and playing something two-player but every now and again I'm stuck with my dinky GBA screen while she hogs Vexx

i recentyl tried to back up the hulk and brute force
the hulk is only 1.58 gigs so no size problem there and i down sized brute force accordingly and use gdfimage and neither one of them work??? i have successfully done 248 games so can anyone tell me whats new out there that im obviously not doing? thanks |
I suggest reading this forum.
I would say either update your bios, or patch them, and/or use the now famous Dude's data method. |
you have to patch the xbe file ever since the media check was put into effect
