'No chip required' boot disks...
There's a site advertising a boot disk that requires no mod chip:
http://www.ps2-bootdiscs.co.uk/playstation2.htm Also downloaded a boot disk (not sure if it's the same one) & have tried an original ntsc import & a CDR backup, with no success. Do no chip boot disks work? |
There is no such thing as a boot disc that works without a mod installed. They are all bogus.
|
There is now a boot cd for PS2 just like there has been one for the original Playstation.
Of course any backup or so-called downloaded image of these will not work. |
Any "boot disc" that exists is just a disc to facilitate the swap trick, which has an abysmally low success rate.

i wonder if it has the same problem as the swap magic with gmes like clock tower 3 about not loading i might buy and try this out if it dose not need a mod that would be great

I've seen that ages ago
I hear they don't work at all with back up and import they only work with originals LOL |
Nah - the ad on the link says that you don't need any chip, just the boot disk. Also tried it with an import original PSX disc (ntsc final fantasy tactics) and it didn't work, nor with a backup. Bogus, then?
|
Yes, they are all bogus.
|
Why do people believe this stuff? :(

'cos I'm tight and don't want to spend money on mods...
|
So instead you'll shell out $30 (more than an Apple or Magic costs) on a boot disc that doesn't work?

No, I did a cheeky little download. Cost me £0.10 for a CD. Even i can afford that...
|
DUH!:D
|
How did u expect it to work?
If u downloaded it and burned it then even if it was genuine it is still a back-up and therefore u would need a boot disc to get the burned boot disc to boot. Think about it then go slap yourself hard and get a grip. |
D'you know what - I think this has cost me more than just 10p. It's cost me my pride as well. Just realised that it wasn't the boot disk that was prompting me to enter a disk, was it?
I shall now go sit in a dark corner and brood. |
