Anno 1503 - CD Copy
Hello,
A few weeks ago I burned Anno 1503, CD 2. Of course I had to use a .bwa-file and had to burn at a low speed. Till I had this CD I worked with a few cracks but they all causes troubles (every few minutes the game crashes). But then, with my new CD 2, I worked fine. I was able to play with the burned CD and without using a crack. OK, I was really happy. Now I had to reinstall Windows XP. I thougt, that there will be no problem with Anno 1503. But in fact it doesn't work. It's like a had a normal copied CD. I tried everything: I installed Anno 1503, used it with a crack, then installed the update, used it with the crack, then used the old anno1503.exe and tried the CD. Nothing worked! Now I'm really desperated! Can anyone help me out? Greetz jocha |
Mmmm.... that's weird. Try making a hard disk image with Alcohol120% and see if that runs ok. If it does, you can try making another backup and see if that works too. It is possible that you don't have a Safedisc 2 compatible burner, and then you can get weird stuff, like backup plays in one drive and not the other etc... Also make sure the original works fine, it could be a driver issue since you reinstalled XP.

yeah, maybe it is a driver issue. because I tried about 5 different wma-files! It doesn't work! I will try it with alcohol... thanks for the hint

i thought anno was that new securom ?

Use alcohol120%, then get blindwrite suite convert the mds to bwa file and write it back to cdr.
|
German version has Securom 4.8x
English version has Safedisc 2.80.10. |
Ooops, I didn't know that. My post was meant to explain how to make a backup of the german version (Securom).

that was it, what i've done. burned the cd with blindwrite. i have the german version. but i have no original disc (it's broken *fg*). i've only the image and bwa-files from the internet...
