Help please
My ps2 chipped with an NH3 is not working ever since I brought it to a friends house. What I get is a 5 second extra of the cd tray coming out after pressing the eject button when in standby mode, I also hear a louder noise when starting up, like a fan. Anyone know what could be the problem? 39001 is the version number making it a v7, I would really appreciate if anyone can solve this, please note that I have no experience in chipping, nor opening the ps2, but if I must as long as it is a simple job, I will.

I would take it appart and see if anything came loose. Look here

Okay, I removed the cover but I don't want to do too much in the risk of it messing up even more. I think it is something wrong wit the disk tray, because before this happened, the blue light would come immeadiately after pressing eject or reset, now it takes up to 5-8 seconds to come out.

its something wrong inside the ps2
only way to repair it is to open it |

Well if you aren't going to open it up took have a look, you will have to pay somebody to fix it....

I just opened the case, that danger sign after that scared me off. And about that somebody who fixes it, they would just rip me off. I guess that it my only choice though..

Where you located? If you are in the US send it to Bill of freedomlives.com. Very reliable.
Wow my 3000th post.:D |
I'm in Toronto Canada

That is not too far from Chicago, but it will cost ya a wad of cash just to pay for the shipping there and back. You might want to try emailing him. Say you have used his services before and ask if he has any ideas why you are having this problem.

I guess I can do that. Do you have any guesses on what part of the ps2 isn't working right? As I sad, the cd tray comes out 5 seconds later than usual and the blue light doesn't show until those 5 seonds. I should have brought my m2, that way if it broke, I could still load it on the browser without having to press reset.

Anyone?

Can you still boot games? Your problem sounds similar to a bios pin problem. Usually the problems you are describing are also accompanied by the fact that you have difficulty going back to standby also. If this is the case then it is definetly a BIOS problem.
|
No I cannot boot games, since this ps2 is chipped with an NH3, you can't load from the browser, if it happened to my messiah I could. And I have no trouble oing into standby mode.

K, last time i'll bump this, I just need a basic idea of what is wrong.
