Playstation 2 Gameshark v 1.9

I have a Playstation 2 model 3001 with a mod chip and a Gameshark version 1.9. The chip was put in properly and my regular games works. When I use the gameshark to load my copied games the this is the instructions in which I follow.
Booting Procedure for PS 2 backups:
1. Install the modchip according to the instructions and the diagram.
2. Turn on the PS 2 console.
3. Wait until the start-up screen appears.
4. Then press the "OPEN" button to let the tray come out.
5. Insert the Game Shark disc and the Game Shark dongle.
6. Press the "OPEN" button again to let the tray go back.
7. Press Start Game, With/Without Codes.
8. When asked to insert the new CD press Eject and insert your backup within 4 seconds.
9. Press Eject to close the tray. Press X immediately to start. Your backup will boot.

When I load the copied game the Gameshark freezes and I dont hear the game being load.

Help, Help! Thanks, Michael

Well, are u sure that ur mod chip has been fully installed did u go through the proper boot setup, your gameshark could have a fault (*im just going over the basics because sometimes i have missed out important stuff) if u have done everything right, it must be the copied games, have they been ripped?
if so or if not it must be them.
Try going over the burning again at a slower speed.

hope this is a help

I can play regular games that I bought like Gran Turismo. I even got a copied game Of Ace Kombat (Playstation 1 format) to run. Maybe I dont have the right boot up procedure.
Thanks, Michael
