Laser Pots on version 5 to 7 PS2
 

Does anyone know which pot adjusts the cd laser intensity on the version 5 to 7 ps2 lasers? Top or bottom?

I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, with the unit upside down and the front facing you, the cd pot is the left and the dvd pot is right. Oriented vertically, that would make the dvd pot the bottom.

Thats on the version 1 to 4 ps2 laser.

If u put a version 5 to 7 laser in exactly the same orientation as u do a version 1 to 4 laser with the cd pot on left and dvd pot on right, the version 5 to 7 laser will have both pots on the right, one above the other ( totally different to the version 1 to 4 laser).

I don't know if its top or bottom pot.

If you have to adjust the pot then expect your laser to die soon.

Any reason why you need to do this?

Have modded a m8's version 5 and can't get it to reliably read ps2 cdr's.

Reads dvd-r no problems.

Have tried cleaning lens etc but with no joy.
