Magic 3.1 no swap modchip

hey Im thinking about buying the Magic 3.1 No soldier Mod chip for 49 bucks. http://www.modchip.com/ps2/magic3order.htm

I was wondering if you guys knew anything about this and if you had advice. Also, if I were to get this how would I go about copying games onto CD's. I dont have a dvd burner.

Thanks, Josh

Dont got much info to give u on the chip.

But if u dont got a DVD burner. It pretty much defeats the purpose or backing up ps2 games IMO. But u can always find rips to games everywhere if u look. Or u can try copying ps2 cd based games, theres not many but a few. At least u can backup all your psx games up.

It actually depends on the game like i said earlier. There are PS2 DVD games and PS2 CD games. Heres an example of a PS2 DVD game.

PS2 DVD GAME

As u can see it underneath the ps2 logo it says DVD ROM. That means that game could only be backed up on a DVD burner.

Heres the example of a ps2 CD game.

PS2 CD GAME

As u can see it says Compact Disc under the label. That means these games can be backed up with a CD Burner.

There are also exceptions as well. Theres lots of people who do rip games that can be fitted on a regular CD.

It was primarliy early ps2 games that were on a cd. Almost all new games are on dvd now. CD games are the ones that have a blue bottom and say cd-rom instead of dvd-rom on the disc and box. You really need a dvd burner to fully enjoy the ps2 backup scene. There are rip kits available for some dvd games, but not all. These shrink the game down to be small enough to fit onto a cd-r or multiple cd-rs, but features such as movie sequences are usually removed to do this. DVD burners have really come down in price. You can get one for about $200 now. $49 is way too much for a magic 3.1. You can get a better chip in a Messiah 2 for about that price or less.

A Magic 3.1 is NOT a no-solder mod chip.....

And as everbody is saying......

Get a Messiah 2...... MUCH BETTER chip for about the same price..

Dude $49 is way too much for a magic3.1.
get it here for $20.

Alrit is teh Magic 3.1 simple to set up and works well if I were to get it for 20$. And I have MVP baseball 2003 and want to make backup because I noticed theres a rip kit for it. So I downloaded-I have to rip it to get a ISO file? and then it ptaches it and I can burn it on a cd and play it with my mod chip?

no-solder mods as well as magic chips do not work to well with rips. If you must depend on rips go with the messiah 2.

jsco1112 05-05-2003 18:05

What is the best price for the messiah 2 Ive seen like $45

BG 06-05-2003 17:20

Depends on who you buy from.... AND if its a TRUE Messiah 2....
There are ALOT of fakes out there....

I have sent you a Private Message..... Order from the people I have talked about in the message.... You WILL NOT be dissapointed....
