I can't connect through FTP??
I have a crossover cable from PC to XBox, I set the Box to a static IP and use that in flashfxp set the default gateway and set it to 10. I keep getting time out errors no matter what I do, can this be a problem with the copy of the evox I have tried both the flash and cute ftp. Could this be with my crossover cable? I reinstalled my NIC on my PC hoping but to no avail I have read every tutorial I could and can't seem to find anything that can help!!
I am lost!!! |
Try turning off your firewall i.e. (Zonealarm) for example, if you have that installed.
|
No firewall
No I have no firewall, I am trying both cute and flash. The light on the NIC is green the light on the PC is orangeish. I try to ping through command and get a time out error. Can it have anything to do with the evox I noticed its an earlier version the one before the latest. I am so frustrated here.
Could it have something to do with the ship itself?? God I sure could use a hand here, I am losing it !!!!! |
ship? do u mean chip?
if so, i doubt it |
Try using a different crossover cable to see if that helps. Also make sure everything is configured in the Evox.ini. Read the Evox for dummies sticky for advice.

I don't think it would be the cable if the lights on the NIC and XBox are on.
I think its mostly likely a problem with IP address. Mite want to check your EvoX INI. Heres how mine looks. Mind you, mine is set up for my network and mostly isn't the same set up you have. SetupNetwork = Yes StaticIP = Yes Ip = 192.168.2.100 Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0 Defaultgateway = 192.168.2.1 DNS1 = 207.192.213.13 DNS2 = 207.192.213.22 Now for you I would set you PC up as: Ip = 192.168.1.10 Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0 Defaultgateway = 192.168.1.10 And on your XBox side set up as: Ip = 192.168.1.100 Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0 Defaultgateway = 192.168.1.10 Now lets just say you did the way I would set it up. Plug every thing in, turn on your XBox and let EvoX to boot. Go into settings and make sure it has an IP address you set it as. Then go back to your PC, click SRART, Run, and type command and hit OK. You should see a DOS screen. From there type ping 192.168.1.100 If you get a return great, open up your FTP software and get in. If not, some thing else is wrong. |
Ok I will look,
I noticed when I boot up the evox the IP is 0.0.0.0.0 where the MAC is and that in green but I guess that is beacuse I am not on the internet I have looked everywhere for some info but it's like no one else cam across this before wow what to do>>
If the crossover cable was faulty would not the light not go on on the NIC cards?? I wish I had another one kicking around!!! Well I will see about trying to burn another copy of the evox as the guy I got it from had a router set up not a crossover?? Thanks Hans for your help I will keep you posted I was just concerned about maby the chip didn't have that part in the bios |
Re
Ok I take it I should open up the evox.ini in notepad correct, I think maby thats where inlies the problem as when I boot up evox it defaults to no for static IP and yes to network I do switch it to yes in settings but maby thats not enough?? Ok I will double chedk the ini file and see whats in there I am at work so I won't be able to check it for a bit so....
Maby I should burn a whole new evox if that dosen't help... I guess I am trying to narrow it down as much as possible so I know where to go first. So whats the % evox, cable, chip or ftp program although I tried 2 I will try the evox.ini Thanks a alot I am just really frustrated thats all |
Don't worry about it i've been there myself. It took me a while to figure things out. Anyway, i'm using a crossover cable connection myself from PC to Xbox. Here are my network evox.ini settings below if it helps:
[Network] SetupNetwork = Yes StaticIP = Yes Ip = 192.168.0.157 Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0 Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1 DNS1 = 0.0.0.0 DNS2 = 0.0.0.0 SkipIfNoLink = Yes SetupDelay = 10 I can't see it being the version of Evolution X. However, i'm using the latest version (V1.8.3752). If you make a new copy use the 'data burn method' and add a 1Gb dummy file to the disc prior to burning. That way you should get a succesfull burn and the Xbox does should boot it better, as a result of the dummy file. |
LOL Damn it Hans I was just about to post after I hit "Reply" and saw you had all ready done so...
Any way, use Hans set up in your INI file. And when you go to set up the ip addres for your PC use 192.168.0.150 |

It was the ini...
For use static it was set to no,, what I wasn't thinking was that even though I was changing it on the dashboard it wasn't able to save it as I was running it off the cd so once I recopied the evox using the proper ini. files all is well and able to connect..
You guys deserve a medal!!!!!!!!!!!:p |
