Do Alcohol120%/Blindwrite/Clonecd work with Starforce 3 ? Anyone tried ?

ByteMare 03-05-2003 12:32

Umm..no..unfortunately I don't have any starforce protected games and Alcohol only have starforce 1x/2x profiles..so..hard to tell..

TippeX 03-05-2003 13:45

alcohol works for starforce 2 but not for starforce 3
and i'd say the chances of the other progs rince mentioned doing the job are very slim

inside the exe (.sforce section...) ?

TippeX 04-05-2003 09:26

for starforce 3, theres usually 2 sections .brick and hmm honestly cant remember the other, the ep is usually always at 69690000h, very noticable

cdkiller 05-05-2003 03:09

thx for the hint iŽll look at it.
the other section is ".sforce" in some games

WW2 Frontline Command

Doing a copy of WW2 frontline command, using clony xxl to find out protection...Nothing showed so copied using safe disc settings.....Copy installed perfectly, but when it came to start the game.....went through the entire starforce routine before telling me invalid disk....Copied using starforce settings in alcohol same as before installed fine....but won't even read the cd.....Maybe a customised version using read Sub channel data and RPMS, might work in producing a 1:1 copy...Anyone any ideas???

TippeX 11-05-2003 13:31

atm you CANT copy a starforce 3 game

ssh 15-07-2004 06:52

Someone on another thread mentioned that starforce 3 seems to use angular calculations to verify the disk. So it says that if I rotate the disk by X amount and read this far from the centre, the bytes returned should be XYZ... as I understand it anyway. Someone feel free to correct me.

When you copy the disk, the physical locations of sectors won't be a perfect copy. It's a tricky one to trick anyway, and means that programs like gamedrive and alcohol120% are immediately beaten.

For the most part, it's an extremely complete copy protection system. Encrypted instructions, debugger detection, advanced cd verification techniques. But nothing is immortal :-)

If I had the time, resources and knowledge, I'd attack the starforce driver itself and always get it to tell the client what it wants to hear. It'd provide a nice general crack for all sf3 games.

It will NEVER get cracked for 100%. The latest version can be implemented at any possible place at any possible time, so for at least trying to crack it, you have to finish the game numerous times, and debugging a complete CD is out of the Q. So SF3 *is* the ultimate copy protection. It's also sterile for reoccuring code, every copy does get a different wrapper.

StarForce 3 is allready cracked. Soldiers Heroes of WWII has been cracked and got StarForce 3 protection, so it isn't a protection u CANT crack. U just have to be very good to crack it :p

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The newest StarForce protection is a very hard and - for a longtime - unsuccessfully cracked/bypassed/copied copy protection. It uses a very accurate data position measurement algorithmwhoes needed informations (currently) can't be copied by 100%

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the info i've red but it has been cracked!

Spookyfish 15-07-2004 12:43

you say carcked ? I cant find any NoCd patch for "Soldiers Heroes of WWII" you sure about this or did you mean "Codename Panzers"??
