Very interesting article. I guess that means no making backups to dvdr since those movies will be bout 50Gigabytes as the article mentions. I liked part about 7.1 audio.:D Talk about sh!tloads of wires running under floor to all speakers.

If you read the WHOLE article, you would have noticed that they have ALREADY released a "Blue Laser" burner in Japan....

So you will still be able to record those movies also.....

Providing your wallet can stand the $3800.00 price tag (OUCH :) )

i meant the current burners we have wont be able to copy them.

sorry if this is incorrect but i remember reading a while ago about this new format.
it is called blue ray as it uses a ultra violet laser to burn the disc the disc size was to be approx 28 gb on a single disc.

nice when this burner comes out i'll be broke again. i made the mistake of buying two dvd burners when they were first released set me back over £1000 better start saving the pennies

Well i think buying my DVD Writer has been a waste of time really, I have only backed up a 2 movies.

I mean i could have just waited a few more years till these blueray ones drop lots in price.

But i guess by the time i can afford one of them i will have a new PC.
