Mame-X, is there a way to play 13+meg games??
 

I know that Mame-X has trouble playing games that are higher than 13+megs due to ram, (don't know anything about ram, lol) Here's my beef. My marvel vs street fighters, and marvel vs capcoms are about 20megs, and play 100% perfect (video and sound) on fbax. I'm a huge mortal kombat fan, and I can't play mk3, umk3, on Mame-X. My MK2, the sound crackles, and the video is kind slow (it's only 12 megs) MK3, UMK3 are about 15-16megs. My question is, will there be an upgrade Mame-X where it will be able to handle 20+meg games (like fbax) or, do I have to do something internal to my xbox?!? (something to do with ram i take it huh) I'd really like to know what to do, to get my MK's playing. This xbox keeps amazing me everyday. Thanks for reading, and thanks for your inputs.

P.S. Also, don't tell me to go play the snes, or sega versions, lol. If I'm able to play the arcade versions, I want to play the arcade versions, lol. Thanks again guys!!

Well I think its a limitation of the Xbox RAM. You could either add more RAM to your Xbox or rewrite MK3 to take less processing. You'll probably have to deal without like the rest of us though.

Really? How about Neogeo Rage X? Will that and the roms run alright on the Xbox?

it can only cope with 50mb files (uncompressed) at the moment.


Also, alot of the games seems small, but once uncompressed they are quite big. + sometimes they require a few zip files to work.


However, in the case of mk3, I think there the emulator have problems running it.

you can add more ram to the xbox to get it to run bigger mame roms, but to get more ram you have to get the ram out of another x box....

and when you addmore ram ur xbox games dont run

Well, I guess I can't add more ram if I won't be able to play xbox games. It's just pissing me off, cause fbax plays only capcom games, and those games are 19-20 megs, and play sound flawlessly!!! Now, why isn't there an emu that can do that for all roms??? I hop they come out with an update really soon. And the neogeo section of the mame-x b6 emu, certain game will only appear in the neogeo section (aka, the blue screen) is there anyway to make my mortal kombats appear in that neogeo screen??

I saw on gotmod.com where they sale extra ram on the xbox... you might want to check out thier site and see what you can read up on it.
